Michael D. Sanders, Jr.

Communicator + Performer + Education Advocate

Passionate about the power and impact of representation, narratives, storytelling and play, Michael has spent a number of years working across communications, marketing and PR with varied exposure and experience in communications strategy, public relations, media relations, publicity, social media content development and management, higher education and tech communication, marketing and branding.

He has supported a range of social good, non-profit, education, and arts and entertainment clients. Some of the organizations he’s helped along the way include Howard University, Harvard Kennedy School, United Nations Environment Programme, John Snow, Inc, Partnership for a Healthier America, Ad Council, CompTIA, Lincoln Center Theater, Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, PBS Kids, Stanford University, Tribeca Performing Arts Center and Facebook.

As an education advocate, he’s served as communication faculty facilitating and guest lecturing undergraduate courses in the areas of intercultural communication, communication theory, public speaking and nonverbal communication at a number of universities, including Louisiana State University, University of Maryland University College, University of Texas Permian Basin, Louisiana State University at Alexandria, Howard University, and Lamar University.

Michael is a co-founder of Harvard Alumni for Education and has served as a 2018 and 2021 National Endowment for the Arts Grants Reader.
